Melissa J. Crump
Melissa J. Crump is a partner with Crump Spurlock and has extensive experience in project management, business organization, and planning. Melissa has focused her legal practice in Elder Law and Estate Planning. Ms. Crump holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting and a Juris Doctor from Northern Kentucky University’s Salmon P. Chase College of Law. Melissa is a Past Chair for the Kentucky Bar Association’s Elder Section, the Secretary for the Small Business Section, and an active member of the Kentucky Bar Association’s Elder Law Section, Small Firm Section, and the Probate & Trust Section. She is active with local nursing facilities and is on the Advisory Board of a facility in Lexington, Kentucky where they address the care and needs of the senior population.
Ms. Crump is a national speaker in areas relating to elder law, estate planning, and trust administration.
In addition to practicing law, Melissa is an avid supporter of higher education, senior citizens, student athletes, and veterans. She enjoys gardening, reading, and spending time with her family. She is married, has three children and three grandchildren. Ms. Crump is very involved in the Bourbon County school system and her church. She loves to watch baseball and softball and supports all sports-related to the University of Kentucky Wildcats!

Barry S. Spurlock
Barry S. Spurlock, J.D., CSP, is a Partner with Crump Spurlock and has extensive experience working as a safety professional in manufacturing, insurance loss control, and consulting. Barry has focused much of his practice on employment law, representing employers with OSHA matters, estate planning, and business planning. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Industrial Safety and Risk Management, and a Master of Science in Loss Prevention and Safety Administration, both from Eastern Kentucky University.
Mr. Spurlock also holds a Juris Doctor from Northern Kentucky University’s Salmon P. Chase College of Law. Barry is an active member of the American Society of Safety Engineers and currently serves as the EKU Student Section’s Faculty Advisor, and the Louisville Chapter as a past president and as chair of the Government Affairs Committee. He is also a member of ASSE’s National Government Affairs Committee. He is co-author of the book “Chomp Comp; The Small Business Guide to Lower Worker’s Compensation Premiums.” Barry is a frequent speaker at various national safety conferences on research interests in the field of safety performance measurement, hazard control efficacy, and legal issues affecting occupational safety and health.
